Note: This article was composed by me 3 years ago in 2018, on my facebook, this is a reply given after somone read this salawat below;

"Asalam aleikum, Sajad, since the day you shared this salutation (kanzil Azam) upon prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, by maulana Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani qaddas Allahu sirru.  He (Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani qaddas Allahu sirru came to my rescue in the dream last two weeks, the dream goes like this;

i had a serious encounter with my enemy for minutes and at last i shouted sheikh Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani qaddas Allahu sirru and i said i am a winner my wife was asking who is that am calling. i told her little about him Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani qaddas Allahu sirru posted 3 years ago on my Facebook

It's interesting that Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani qaddas Allahu sirru used Kanzil A‘zam in twice in his other two salawats;

At the beginning of Kibrit al-Ahmar and middle of Salawat al-Kubra and the Salawat Kanzil A'zam opens by asking by Afdala-Best Blessings and Fadl both meaning Favours, Bounties or blessings and also afdalil-khalqi the best of creation.

 

This salawat, from the wird of Shaykh Ghawth al-A’zam Qutb Rabbani, Mahboobi Subhani, Ghawth Samdani Sayyidina Sultan al-Awilya ‘Abdul Qadir Jilani al-Hasani al-Husaini may Allah sanctify his secret, and was especially recommended by  Shaykh Muzaffer Ashki al-Jerrahi of the Nur Ashki Jerrahi Sufi Order  which is a modern dervish order (tariqah) of Sufism. It is a branch of the Halveti-Jerrahi Tariqah of Istanbul, Turkey, may Allah shower his soul with Mercy.

Note: Ghawth al-A’zam a Sultan al-Awilya ‘Abdul Qadir Jilani qaddas Allahu sirru has the unique title  Na’iba Rasulillah-O deputy of Allah’s Messenger peace be upon him, as he Sultan al-Awilya is Ya Sahibal-qadamil-’ali ‘ala raqabati kulli Waliyyin li’llah meaning; The Master of the foot raised over the neck of every saint of Allah!

Reading this salawat once is worth a thousand salawats.

‘Whoever recites this salawat after entering his home following the isha prayer and recites 3 Surah ikhlas and once surah Falaq and Surah Nass, remaining silent and not speaking thereafter, he will certainly behold the Prophet ﷺ dream vision’. From Imam al-Qadi Yusuf b. Isma’il al-Nabhani from his book Sa‘adat al-Darayn.

The heart of the one who reads this prayer will be shielded from the waswas whisperings of Satan. From Shaykh Ahmad al-Sawi.

Salawat Kanzil Azam of Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani qaddas Allahu sirru is also called Salawat Qutb al-Mu'azzam "The Prayer of venerable Cardinal pole".

Shaykh Ahmad al-Sawi said, ‘This prayer is also called Shams al-Kanz al-A’zam (The Sun of the Greatest Treasure).

The reward for Reading Kanzil-A‘zam once are equal to 1000 Salawat. 

The method of reading is only once a day and should be start on the Night of Jum'ah (Thursday night). It's benefits also include a more powerful connection to Ziyarah of Sayyiduna Rasulallah sallallahu alayhi wasallim and Ghawth al-Azim Shaykh Abdal Qadir Jilani qaddas Allahu sirru in dream.

Here Shaykh ‘Abdul Qadir al-Jilani qaddas Allahu sirru pours his heart out in superlative praise of the Holy Prophet Sayyidina Muhammad Mustafa peace be upon him.

The English translation of Kanzil-A‘zam-The Great Treasure;

 

O Allah! Confer forever Your best blessings-(afdala) and ever increasing and never ending favours; and Your Purest, Gracious, and abundant salutations on him who is the most noble in the realm of the realities of the nature of humans and jinn,

and is fully aware of all subtleties of Faith, and is the mountain of excellent manifestations and the place on which descend the mysteries of the All-Beneficent and who is a bridegroom in the Kingdom of the Lord, 

the centrally placed jewel in the chain of the Prophets, the first and the foremost in the army of the Prophetic Messengers, the leader of the caravan of the saints and the truthful, the best in all creation, the bearer of the flag of the highest honour, the owner of the keys to the shining gallery,

the beholder of the secrets of eternity, the beholder of the first created lights, the interpreter of the Divine Language, the fountain-spring of knowledge, tolerance and wisdom, the manifestation of the secret of the existence of the whole and its parts, who is the cause of the existence of (everything) above and below, the soul in the body of both the worlds (that keeps them alive), the fountain of life of this world and the Hereafter, 

the one who has achieved the high rank of servitude to Allah and is created with the highest spiritual stations of morality, the foremost among the friends of Allah and His highly honoured beloved, our master, our patron, our beloved, Muhammad, son of ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abdul Muttalib, may Allah bless him, his Family and Companions, as many times as the number which is in Your Knowledge

(O Allah) and (as many times as) the amount of ink used to write Your Words, whenever You are remembered and he is remembered by those who remember and whenever You are not remembered and he is not remembered by the negligent, (that is, not leaving out any one in the count) and bestow on him abundant, never ending, complete salutations (as well).

 

Allahummaj‘al afdala salawatika abadan

O Allah, bestow Your most gracious blessings-(favours) eternally,

wa anma barakatika sarmadan

 and Your most bountiful favours everlastingly,

wa azka tahiyyatika fadlan wa ‘adadan

 and Your choicest salutations graciously-(Favours) and abundantly,

‘ala ashrafi-khalai’iqil-insaniyyati

 upon the most noble of humanity,

wa majma‘il-haqa’iqi-imaniyyati

the Union of all Realities of Faith,

wa turit-tajalliyyatil-ihsaniyyati

the Mount Sinai of the Unveiling of Spiritual Perfection,

wa mahbitil-asrari-r-Rahmaniyyati

the Cradle of the Mysteries of Divine Mercy,

wa ‘arusil-mamlakatir-Rabbaniyyati

 the Bridegroom of Sublime Sovereignty,

wa wasitati ‘iqdin-nabiyyin

Center Jewel of the Necklace of Prophecy,

wa muqaddami jayshil-mursalin

Captain of the Army of the Messengers,

wa qa’idi rakbil-anbiya’il-mukarramin

 Leader of the Company of Ennobled Prophets,

wa afdalil-khalqi ajma‘in

Most Excellent of All Creation,

hamili liwa’il-‘izzil-a‘la

Bearer of the Banner of Highest Glory,

wa maliki azimmatil-majdil-asna

Holder of the Reigns of Resplendent Dignity,

shahidi asraril-azal,

Witness to Eternal Mysteries,

wa mushahidi anwari sawabiqil-uwali,

Beholder of Pre-eternal Lights,

wa tarjumani lisanil-qidam,

Interpreter of the Language of Eternity,

wa manba‘il-‘ilmi wal-hilmi wal-hikam

Source of Knowledge, Gentleness and Wisdom,

mazhari sirril-judul-juz’iyyi wal-kulliyyi

Revealer of the Secret of Overflowing Generosity both partial

(in this world) and universal (in the Hereafter),

wa insani ‘aynil-wujudil-‘ulwiyyi was-sufliyyi

Pupil of the Eye of Existence, both heavenly and earthly,

ruhu jasadil-kawnayn

(recite 3 times, drawing hands over face each time)

Soul of the Bodies of Both Realms...

wa ‘ayni - and eyes

(kiss tips of forefingers and with them caress eyelids) 

hayatid-darayn

 ...of the Life of Both Worlds,

al-mutahaqqiqi bi-a‘la rutabil-‘ubudiyyati

Realizer of the Highest Degrees of Servanthood,

wal-mutakhalliqi bi-akhlaqil-maqamatil-istifa’iyyati

Holder of the Virtues of the Chosen Stations,

al-khalilil-a‘zam wal-habibil-akram

the Supreme Intimate Friend and most noble Beloved,

sayyidina Muhammadi-bni ‘Abdi-Llahi-bni ‘Abdil-Muttalib

our Master, Muhammad, son of Abdullah, the son of Abd al-Muttalib.

wa ‘ala sa’iril-anbiya’i wal-mursalin

And O Allah, bless the other Prophets and Messengers,

wa ‘ala mala’ikatikal-muqarrabin

the angels near Your Throne,

wa ‘ala ‘ibadi-Llahis-salihin

and the righteous servants of Allah

min ahlis-samawati wa ahlil-aradina

those among the people of the heavens and the people of the earths.

kullama dhakarakadh-dhakirun

 Bless them whenever the rememberers remember You,

wa ghafala ‘an dhikrikal-ghafilun

and whenever the heedless neglect Your remembrance,

wa sallim wa radiya-Llahu

and greet them with Peace, and may Allah be pleased

‘an ashabi rasuli-Llahi ajma‘in

with all the Companions of the Messenger of Allah.

 

Salawat Kanzil-A‘zam is at such a high level in terms of ‘ulum and ‘irfan (direct spiritua knowledge) that it is breath-taking and awe-inspiring. One of its interesting features is that it is in rhyming prose. We notice that in this salawat, the following words rhyme:

(1) abadan, sarmadan, fadlan and ‘adadan;

(2) insaaniyyah, jaanniyah , Imaniyyah, Ihsaaniyyah, Rahmaaniyyah and Rabbaaniyyah;

(3) Nabiyyeena, Mursaleena, Siddiqeena, and ajma‘eena;

(4) a‘laa and asnaa;

(5) azali, awwali, qidami, and hikami;

(6) ‘ilmi and hilmi;

(7) juz’iyyi, kulliyyi , ‘ulwiyyi and sufliyyi;

(8) kawnayni and daarayni;

(9) ‘ubudiyyati and istifaaiyyati;

(10) A‘zam and Akram;

(11) Ma‘lumaatika and Kalimaatika; and

(12) zaakirun and ghaafilun.

There are twelve different rhymes in this powerful salawat. It must be remembered that this is not the only remarkable feature of this salawat. There are various other levels of ‘ulum (knowledge) here, both manifest and hidden that call for more intensive study.
